This is Ilene saying hi from HCMC--

I'll give you some fun touristy things to look at here. I always get a kick out of the Ben Thanh market scene--It's just as interesting to watch the tourists navigate it as it is to look at all of the things for sale. Americans tourists are few and far between, though--many more Asian, European, and Australian tourists. And it's hard to find any tourists my age. Most seem 40+.

I start Vietnamese lessons tomorrow. I found a private tutor through a friend of a friend who teaches foreigners. The first thing we will do, he informs me, is work on pronunciation. Yes, please.
