Hello to everyone - days have been full and damn hot so computer time has not been on the list. But I know some are dying to know how we are doing. First of all we spent our day of departure in the Castlegar airport. Our rebooked flight was also cancelled as the plane was finally able to leave Van but by then the the storm had moved in and it could not land in Castlegar. Because of this second delay we did learn that Panago does deliver pizza to the airport (lunch) in case any of you ever find yourself in the same position LOL. We hung around for the afternoon and finally the third and final flight of the day was able to whisk us away.

A restless night in a Richmond hotel then we were off to Tokyo on a JAL 747. The boys were all troopers and with their own little TV's did not complain one bit on that 10 hour flight. A few hours at the Narita airport and then it was another 7 hours to Saigon (AKA known as Ho Chi Min City but not as it is called by the people who live here). We made a quick trip through customs and were dreading the exit from the airport due to all the stories we had heard about the aggressive airport touts - we experienced no problems at all and quickly seen our hotel taxi holding a sign with my name in big typeset.

The late night drive to the hotel was interesting as the streets were busy with mopeds and motorcycles scooting this way and that - hundreds of them as this is the main source of transport here. Our Hotel is called Hotel 127 and owned by a lady named Madam Cuc. She owns a couple and responds to emails madamcuc@hcm.vnn.vn and CRAP - I have used up my time and 2 guys are in line behind me... I will try to get back on ASAP

Glad all is well!
Thought I'd check your blog tonight and excited to see an entry. I've lost count of how many times it has snowed since you left. As I write this Michelle and Ty have just arrived to shovel both our driveways! It seems like we're finally in for a change though and it's supposed to go up to 5 degrees by Thursday. We'll miss you and the twins at drop-in tomorrow. Keep up your journal! Love, Lesley
