Only a couple of months to go....West Wales here I come.
We thought that this deserved a little entry of its own, New Years Eve all over again! Every restaurant was filled with loud music that was a mixture of Abba and Europop dance style Vietnamese singing - knocking out xmas songs, yes 'o come all ye faithful' will never be the same again. This was followed by a sickly repetition of 'Happy New Year'. The streets filled with people and probably the biggest anticlimax of the year!! Millions of mopeds filled the main square watching singers and children dancing on the stage. Most people looked bored or had already drunk so much that they were sleeping. However, the streets were lit up and at midnight a fireworks display of immense proportions marked the year of the golden pig becoming the year of the rat! We decided to celebrate with a few beers and a seafood BBQ, which was also immense,we had oysters, clams, squid, prawns, and a large grouper!! Stu almost died. He doesn't actually like seafood apparently, but he did well! Managing a few tentacles at least! All this + beer for less that a fiver...I enjoyed it. Again photos to follow once we have sorted our virus!

No Jokes, you can't in a communist country - laughing is banned. A bit like a conversation with Dunc.

Beer seafood and rat - what more do you want?!
Ooooh, good to know you can travel all the way to Vietnam and NYE is just as much of an anticlimax as in the UK! Well done Stu on eating a few tentacles. Let's face it, now's the time to get over your fussy eating vibe. Or you might well waste away altogether. Nice to see the beard's taken a rest too! Em, love the way you can be two days ahead whilst spending the same amount of time on the computer as Stu - efficient as ever I see! Enjoy Saigon x x x
