Made it to Hanoi!

I made it to Vietnam! I honestly can't remember a smoother trip. My flight was delayed 1 hour into Hong Kong so making the connection was stressful, but that happens in Newark and Chicago too. I can't really say a 13 hour flight feels much worse than a 7 hour flight. It is long and cramped but you know at the end it will be worth it. I met Samantha at the baggage claim, her flight came in 3 minutes after mine and we were in the same baggage carousel. What are the chances? We breezed through customs, grabbed a taxi and headed to our hotel. The taxi driver tried to overcharge us but we caught on, not yet having succumbed to our jet lag. After checking into the hotel we walked down to the Lake through the maze of the Old Quarter and the buzz of cars, vespas and people hawking their wares. Tomorrow we will visit Ho Chi Min's Masoleum as well as take in the Water Pupper performance.
