We met Neil at the airport in Hanoi and travelled to our hotel - Our first taste of the absolutely non- existent road traffic rules!! We soon learnt that you DO NOT make eye contact with the moped drivers but just walk across the road praying not to get run over - we have survived so far!
Hanoi is pretty loud and crazy - horns tooting constantly! We spent two days here before heading to Halong Bay - Saw pretty much all of the tourist hot spots.
We then moved on to Halong Bay where we got on our junk with 7 other people and sailed off - For 40 pounds each we had two nights accomadation, all of our meals, cycling, trekking and kayaking - brilliant value for money! We came back to the same tour operator last night and booked our trip to Sapa - 10 hours on a night train which has bunk beds (i'm hoping uncle Neil doesnt snore!)
Jo fell down a drain last night - Had her left foot covered in a non-descript brown/grey gunge - Of course the boys were sympathetic - Neil reached straight for the camera....
