Today Ha took us to Halong Bay. It was unbelieveably beautiful. My side still hurt, but I kept popping the ibuprofen I bought at a Hanoi pharmacy - 600 mgs per dose. Who needs stomach lining anyway?. I would have preferred to not have crashed, but I was delighted with the change in our itinerary. Halong Bay is a must-see. The boat stopped at a nice beach. The water was warm - it felt great to float.

We walked halfway up the islet. I left a chunk of some vital organ on one of the steps. A lung, I think

Two seconds later, we were doubled over, trying to catch our breath from climbing the steps.

We were circled like prairie schooners in a cove for the night. All the boats were alight.
