We were sad to leave this beautiful island. It is an amazing place, and we could easily spend a month there if we had time. See photos titles for helpful info if you are planning on going, and when we get home we will fill in more details.

Diego had 4 scallops, 1 huge clam, 2 tiger prawns, and 1 squid for less than $4. These are served with the traditional Vietnamese seasoning of salt and pepper with lime.

At 3 months old, these bungalows are still not well known, but that will not last long. You will be lucky to get a room here as they only have 2 rooms, and both are right on the water.

Amazingly good north Vietnamese wine - - a life saver when you are tired of beer! $2.50 at the grocery store, $5 at a restaurant. The white is a lot better than the red.

Best sit-down restaurant we found on Phu Quoc. Perfect for lunch when the night market is closed, and VERY reasonably priced for a restaurant. Beer was $0.75, meal $2-4. Both Vietnamese and Western dishes.

Diego scuba diving. The water was increibly clear. We went on two 45 minute dives for $60 each, and each of us had an individual instructor guide with us at all times, which made me a lot more comfortable.

Diving for the 1st time was an amazing experience and completely worth it, but it was pretty stressful and tiring too.

One of the guides on the boat collected these sea urchins from the reefs. They kill the coral, so every time they take divers out they collect as many as they can for lunch.

These beautiful garden cafes are all over Vietnam. This one (a block away from the night market on Phu Quoc) was next to a tennis court, which was very entertaining.

Diego had been scuba diving before, but this was my 1st time! The reefs around the north side of Phu Quoc are ideal for beginners as they are relatively shallow (max about 10m), but still incredibly beautiful.

Excellent bakery on Phu Quoc island. Only sandwiches we have found so far that are made with mayo instead of pate, and very good quality bread. Less than $1 per sandwich. They also have great snack breads & pastries
