between rounds the boxers sit on a stool in a metal basin and a whole team of people pour water into their mouths and all over their bodies, then rub their limbs vigoursly

We got dragged around the place and introduced to a bunch of different people, including this 18-year-old local champion. The guy dragging us, who was all excited that these two farong girls were standing in the pit speaking Thai with all the gamblers, insisted that we come have our picture taken with the champ. That's his hand taking Ashlee's beer (Singa - ties with Chang for being pretty gross) away from her.

Then it was my turn to have my picture taken with the champ. I've got a pretty mean fighting stance. Watch out... erm, I'm such a dork in this picture.
