Koh PhanganKoh PhanganKoh Phangan

These are the lads from England that we spent New Years and the Full Moon Party with we shall meet up with them in london when we get there. (From left Andy, Steve,Simon and Adam in front shwoing his "guns")
I know your thinking thailand again. After changing flight dates from Macau we managed to meet up with Carly a friend of ours from home, so as a result we spent three days in Phuket which was enough, the nightlife is so spoilt by thai prostitutes they are only two or three bars who dont let them in, so obviously not hinda and my scene the exploitation is disgusting especially by the old men dont know how they can look at themselves in the mirror, anyhow enough said. Asides from that we had a great time hanging out with carly and her sister and a few others it was good to hang out with some people who you actually know.

So after they went home we left for Phi Phi Island which hasn't changed much since the tsunami which is good its still a brilliant place to go, although it now seems to be the place of choice for all scandanavians in thailand i think they made up about 80%of the people there so if anyone is looking for swedish backpackers look no further. We spent a week or so there just relaxing and taking a few boat trips on the local long tail boats to the nearby snorkelling sites and they were nothing short of amazing the best we have seen in all our travels, we would have loved to go diving but the budget couldn't stretch that far.

So on our way again back to Krabi so I could finally fit that rock climbing in that i had been hanging out for. Much like Phi Phi is an island paradise Krabi is a rock climbers dream so needless to say the two days i spent were well worth the wait didnt get any pictures though which was a bit stupid on my behalf, seeing we had left Hong Kong early we were now staying in Thailand for 33 days so we needed to do a visa run which was a bit of a pain but an adventure none the less. So we headed off north to the border town of Ranong and actually spent christmas day between the Thai and Myanmar (Burma) immigration office, on the back of a motorbike and on a long tail boat crossing the sea between the two countries all in all i think we were in Myanmar for around 20mins just enough

Pic of me cliff jumping if you can make out the blue arrow in the middle of the pic i am just below it, it was a 20m drop
to complete formalities.

So on our way we were on route to Koh Phangan for New Years Eve and the famed Full Moon Party, along the way we stopped in Koh Samui thats probably all that was worth mention the fact that we went there not a fan much the same as Phuket only with the prostitutes.

We arrive on the 28th in Koh Phangan and found some of the only accomodation left on the island, it was probably the worst we have stayed in but it didnt matter to much as we only slept in the room we spent the rest of the time either on the beach or out drinking, if your looking to party Koh Phangan is the place to be three days before and one day after the full moon party, after that it's a ghost town it was almost a completly different place altogether.

We met four british guys on our first night there and apparently there was a half moon party in the jungle so what the hell we gave it a go a few buckets later we got home around 5am which was about normal, so from then through new

Crystal clear water leading up to an isolated beach
years eve until the full moon party on the 3rd we just hit the town with the lads every night if you ever get the chance to go to a full moon party dont miss it

Anyhows that takes us up until now we left Koh Phangan for Bangkok arrived at 3:30am only to find all accomodation booked out just what you want after a 13 hour journey and at that time in the morning, after walking the streets we finally found a place, we spent the next couple of days just getting things for our adventure to Kenya which will be in the next blog.

Didnt really get to take the piss out of anyone in this blog which is sad i'll make up for it next time
