AO NANG:

It has been a while since we were there now so this will be quick. This was Chris's favourite place.
Stayed at the Baylay Guest House which was pretty nice and had great staff. Ao Nang is like the beach part of Krabi. It is the gateway to the Phi Phi Islands and heaps of others.
The first day we spend exploring the shops and bars. On the second day we did a 4 island tour where we stopped at 4 islands and went snorkeling, sea kayaking, swimming, sunbaking. It was an awesome day and became brown little monkeys! The next day we went to Phi Phi island. I wanted to go to Phi Phi Ley, which is where they filmed the beach movie so we got this boat over. It went to Phi Phi Don but I thought we could stay on and go to the next island. We got in trouble for staying on the boat and had a bit of a fight with the staff. The boat didn't even go up to Phi Phi Ley anyway, it just stopped out in the bay and people just swam around the boat for half an hour. So glad

we didn't actually pay the extra to go to the island. We were really disappointed we could actually go to the island. The boat then took everyone back to Phi Phi Don, which is a nice island but pretty commercial. We got a massage in these prime little huts on the beach.
Had dinner that night at a swiss-thai restaurant called Wanna. Delicious food! Walking along the esplanade of Ao Nang with all the little restaurants, food stalls and shops we came across a man with a monkey. The monkey's name was Tuk Tukie and he was soooooo cute. He seems happy and healthy and cuddle you like baby. The man made money by selling polariod photos to tourists with the monkey. Chris wanted to steal him and we looked for him again the next night but he was no where to be seen. We bought Chris a fake Tommy watch from this guy. After much umming and arring and bartering I think we ended up giving him 7AUD cos he was a nice guy 😊

KO SAMUI:

I loved Ko Samui. We had this cute little wooden bungalow on the beach. It had the cutest balcony with

hammock. The bathroom was pretty gross but apart from that it was really nice. It as so perfect waking up so gentle sunshine and water lapping on the shore just meters away. We hired a scooter and went exploring around the island. It was awesome fun. Went to beautiful Chewang beach with it's white sands and clear blue ocean for a swim. There are nice little bars on and around the beach. Beer chang kup!! We sunbaked, swam and played frizbee. It was great fun 😊
Went to the Samui Butterfly Garden which was really nice. We got a flat tyre on the way, out in the middle of nowhere and it cost us 260 baht to fix it, and it only cost us 150baht to rent for the whole day ($6). There are little kids, maybe 8 riding around on scooters everywhere out here. The most we have seen is 4 people on a scooter at once. Crazy Thais!
We went for dinner at a restaurant literally on the beach with an English couple. The beach here is pretty steep and they kind of have to wedge the tables and chairs in at an angle to keep them flat.

But is doesn't take much to loose your balance and sure enough the English chic landed in the sand all legs in the air and arms flailing. It was hilarious!

KO PHAN NANG:

This was our nicest accommodation. We had an air-conditioned room, with a fridge, pay tv and hot water, but still no flushing toilet. Oh and they had a swim up bar and infinity pool.
This is the island that hold the full-moon, half-moon and black-moon parties. We went to the half-moon party...and had a good time! There are photos of us dancing with the locals and tourists all painted up in glow-in-the dark paint. It was an awesome party - crazy dance tracks, fire twirling, LOTS of vodka-redbull buckets, body painting and plenty of dancing. It was so good that we ended up waking up on a dirt pathway missing random articles of clothing and most people had left already or were stepping over us!!!
After this there was the boat-bus-train ride back to Bangkok. The boat ride was the worst ever because we were so hung over and sick 😞 But it was worth it!
