Deep Water Soloing
The point almost directly above the boat (slightly to the left) is where I fell from
The Hangout
There was some serious skills on display here
Deserted Island
We stopped here for a break during our soloing, one of the group took a kayak to a nearby island and picked up some beer
Restaurant at Ton Sai
This place on the beach is where I ate most of the time, good place to meet in the morning for climbing
Soloing Island
This is where we did most of our Deep Water Soloing
Cliff Climbing
Making a Splash
This is the result of my back-flop
Bouldering Route
I was working on traversing this wall, never did make it all the way. Maybe next time.
Beach Cliff
Sock Monkey (Dusky Langur)
These monkeys must have been the inspiration
Sock Monkey 2
Stretching It
This is part of the bouldering route I was working on
Thai Jungle Trail
The main path between Ton Sai and Rai Leh beaches could be treacherous when wet, the rocks are quite sharp
Ton Sai Beach
Lots of pretty scenery here
Ton Sai Cliff
Bolted and ready for climbing - right outside your doorstep
Setting up the Top Rope
Even on the rainy days there are still plenty of places to climb
The Cave
After a day of climbing we went home via this cave, after a few hundred feet you emerge to an exit that requires an 80 foot rappel
Rainy Day
This is looking out of the cave entrance
My Room
Electricity came on a little after sundown, shut off about 7 AM. I usually slept with the lights on to deter the rats, which I tried to imagine were squirrels with skinny tails.
My Bungalow
Less than $5 a night, not bad
Ton Sai Beach
Tea Plantation 1
Tea Plantation 2
Steam Boat
My Hog
Hat Yai Street
The Thai characters are enigmatic - fortunately the Louise Guest House where I stayed had an english sign
