When you find yourself on the hot, tropical island of Phuket with your restless toddlers in tow, wondering what on earth you can do to burn off some of their energy and have a good time in the process, look no further than Phuket’s Splash Jungle Waterpark.

Opened in 2010, the clean, safe, and fun facility has been attracting boatloads of kids – young and not so young – to their maritime playground intent on having a heap of fun on all the watery attractions. From all accounts, a good time is there to be had by all.

The waterpark made a big splash when it opened two years ago, combining the perfect holiday elements of cooling down, easy exercise, and wholesome outdoor entertainment for the whole family. In fact, for many it’s like a never-ending Songkran, or water festival, on sliders and inner tubes.

In addition to all the waterslides, there is a relaxing play area for your younger tadpoles, a “lazy tube river,” a “hot spring,” and a wave pool. The waterpark is a good size – big enough to contain a variety of aquatic options, yet small enough to remain manageable for ever-watchful parents.

Splash Jungle’s most popular attractions include the swishing and swirling Super Bowl, the Aqua Play Pool with its water bomb cannons and guns, and the always exciting Boomerango, where you’re send speeding down a waterslide, then shot up like a slingshot on a 15-meter wall, before reverse free-falling into a splashdown pool. The less adventurous are welcome to enjoy the three normal waterslides.

When your energy level has been depleted, and your kids are carrying on, you’ll be pleased to know that there are two on-site cafés selling a mish-mash of dishes, from standard Thai cuisine to Western comfort food like cheeseburgers and fish and chips.

By the time you’ve finished your meal and enjoyed a refreshing beverage, the children should be well knackered and ready to head back to the hotel for a long, cool nap. One of Splash Jungle’s value-added services is their shuttle to most of Phuket’s hotels and beaches.

The waterpark is open daily 10 am -6 pm. The fees are: adults: 1,295 Baht; children (5-12 years): 650 Baht; and kids under 5 enter for free.

Splash Jungle is located at 65 Moo.4 Thanon Maikhao, Thalang, Phuket and the telephone number is +66 (0)76 372 111.
