trying to recreate a 'bond' moment!!!
Well guys, the fateful day has arrived, time for my final blog.....it is a sad day, as I am sure you have all been totally enthralled by my updates!!!! We arrived in Bangkok, early on Saturday morning, after another sleepless night on the train!! The city is huge, and so much busier than the places we've been to so far!!! As we were wandering around looking for a hostel at 08.00 there were still people in the bars - I was very jealous!!! I have to admit, that I didn't enjoy Bangkok too much, all very touristy, and not that much to do. On the plus side, we were staying near to Kho Sahn road, which has a huge market, and I found some cool t-shirts to add to my collection!!! We also took a wander to a local night market, Pat Pong, later in the evening, all the fake goods you could ever desire, but managed to resist temptation!! we were harassed by a guy most of the time, who apparently wanted to have a game of 'ping pong'!!!! I insisted that I wasn't very good, in the hope he would go away....however when I took a glance at the

'menu' he was carrying, I realised my mistake!!! He was actually trying to get us to go and see a 'show' apparently some very talented local girls were able to shoot 'ping pong' balls out of their naughty bits!!! Along with bananas, coke cans and razor blades!!!! Now, I think you would all agree, that there are some very strong health and safety issues connected with this 'sport'!!! Needles to say we declined his kind offer, and got drunk on pitchers of Kamikaze cocktails and tequila.....good times!!!
We did see some tourist attractions in bangkok though, a huge 50 foot gold Buddha, which was very impressive. Jess carried out a good luck ritual, of relasing a cage of small birds, in the direction of the Buddha...hope it works!! Also had a look round a local temple, sorry to say that i am totally 'templed out' now, but it was very beautiful. Spent the next day, shopping and chilling out. Bumped into a guy we had met in Vietnam, which was bizarre, but good to catch up. He was stuck in Bangkok due to the airport being shut, a story we had heard from a number of people.
Sunday, we got

an overnight bus to Krabi, as we decided to spend our last few days seeing some of southeren Thailand...bring on the beach!!! However, the weather in Krabi was rubbish, so after just one night, we decided to push on to Phuket...good choice!!! The weather here is amazing, and we have got great tans!!! We hired a moped for a couple of days, so we could see more of the area. Yesterday, we wnet to local Patong beach, which was a real trial, white sand, crystal blue sea!!!! We both had a go at Parascending which was pretty cool. In the afternoon, we rode out to a Gibbon Rehabilitation Project, centre that rescues Gibbons from poachers, street sellers, and other bad conditions etc. They were very cute, and there was on called Bo, who had some very biazrre behaviours...ring any bells!!!! Then in the evening, we went out for a great meal, I had barbecued cuttlefish!! New experiance, but really tasty!!! Today, we took a ride out to a little place called Chalong Bay, and went on a boat trip for the day!!! Totally amazing!!! Got to do loads of snorkelling, think I found Nemo!!! Then we went sea walking....basically, the

guy put a huge diving helmet on each of us, and we literally 'walked' on the sea bed!!!! It was breathtaking, we fed some fish with lumps of bread, and they were swarming around us!!! It was a weird feeling being 'under the sea' ( Jess has been signing the disney song, all day!!!) Yet another highlight of what has been an absolutely mind blowing trip of a lifetime!!!!!So, this is the end of the road for me and my blog....we're off to catch the bus to Hat Yai, and then onto Kuala lumpur to fly home..... I hope you have all enjoyed my blog entries, and I promise to bore you all to tears with stories and photos when I get back!!!
Much love - Don don the adventurer!!!! x x x x x x
