Hi guys,

So we have spent the last 3 days on the tropical island of Koh Tao, which is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been, it's just how you would imagine a tropical island.

However we had to endure a 10 hour train journey from Bangkok Hua Lamphong station down to Chumphon which was hell. Extreme heat and loud Russians packed on a train don't mix well! We then caught a bus to the boat port where we caught the high speed catamaran across to Koh Tao, seeing all the other islands along the way.

The hostel we stayed in was pretty basic, but the people were nice and two of them happen to be staying in the next hostel we are staying in on Koh Samui, and the other two in our room were from Bristol!

Yesterday we went on a snorkelling trip around the island, stopping off at 5 different spots. One was called Shark Bay where we had the possiblity of seeing black tip reef sharks, but we didn't unfortunately. The island is also a good place to spot Whale Sharks, but they're even rarer.

However, the downside to snorkelling is that all your suncream comes off in the water, so we were effectively sunbathing in the water with no suncream for hours, and we may have got a little burnt!

Next we are off to Koh Samui (Koh Tao's bigger brother) for a couple more nights, then we will venture into Malaysia.

See you then!

Ouch
Hi you three.... Sounds incredible, amazing, tiring, and painful all wrapped up in awesomeness! Could you have ever imagined a train journey like that? It will give you endless opportunities to reminisce in the future! But the island sounds beautiful... Very envious today as I look out on the rain! Keep having a fantastic time and wear a tee shirt in the water next time? Much love to you all xxxx

Sunburn!
I guess a T - shirt would have been a good idea. Remember I lost a layer of skin when I was your age from sunburn - not very comfortable. Sounds like a good day snorkelling though. A bit like the Maldives? Have a good time on the next Island - are you planning any diving? Love Dad

Hi
All sounds rather wonderful - just the way it should be - chaotic, confusing and enjoying all the new sites, sounds and smells. We loved Koh Samui - found a great beach hut, watched open air movie , met up with some new friends and had a beach massage (never again!) Love and hugs Peter and Fiona
