so we arrived on Ko Tao after a very pleasant 90 minute, catamaran trip, met some ozzie guy Jeremy who was really funny 😊 he said that the main resort of Saree is agreat place to stay so we arrived here in Saree ............ and its very buzy, infact extreeeeeemyy buzy, considering weve never been anywhere where there there are more than 75 tourists in the whole resort !! (by the way ive just ahda vodka and red bull so plese excuse any typing mistakes !!!!)
so we booked into a nice bungalow ... hot water shower !!! and guess what ??? i keep it on cold !!! i dont like it hot anymore !!!!
last evening we wandered around, and found the bar Jeremy had recommended - Lotus bar on the beach, you sit on cushions and there was a fire thrower/dancer guy doing his thing infrom of us........... fabulous, very skilled - then had some pad thai and then went off to a lady boy show that turned out to be the worst in Thailand, very unflattering - we stayed for an acceptable 30 mins ( you cant be rude !) and then left .... in bed
by 11.15 pm .... we are sooooo out of controlll !!!!
so today we went on a snorkelling trip around the island - visited 5 places all with fantastic fish and coral. The first stop was to shark bay and yes i did see a shark !!! it was aobut 30 ft long ........................ ok so it was probably about 3 ft long !!! but still it made me gasp - and that makes a weird noise in your snoekelling mask i can tell ya 😊
then we went to more bays and saw all manner of fish, all full of colour, stripes, spots, shapes and sizes. They were swimming all around me, and to be honest it was like being an extra in "finding Nemo" i was truly at one with the ocean ........ loved snorkelling, very peacefull and the coral was just amazinf, very difficult to describe. it was like being in an underworld living room, the coral looks like a carpet with all sorts of chairs and furniture on the sea bed .......................... some of it is brown, some is flurecent and parts of it, close suddenly trapping plancton (i suppose) inside.
There was
one rainbow coloured fish that instead of moving its fins horizontally to swim about (like all other fish) - it moved them verticaly up and down - so itl ooked like it was flying !!! very strange !!!
then we were taken to a secluded private resort - called Koh Nangyaun - you can only get to it by boat - and theres an entrance fee - but oh god it was beautiful !!!!! 3 small peices of beach with a sand bank inbetween them, so waded up to my knees and loved it .
we had the pleasure (and hell yeah it WAS a pleasure !!) of two American guys Matt and Jim, (Matt was like Chandler and Jim more like Joey) who we spent a coupe of hours with, they were great fun, and appreciated our english sence of humour - live in new york - got their emails (they insited honest !!!!) so thats my accomodation sorted for that trip !!!
then we were back home, i tell you we were exhausted .... its really hard work snorkelling for hours !!!
swing in the hammock, iced tea and packet of crisps at 5pm
(which has become a sort of ritual) and then shower and out for the evenign
and 2 minutes later ran into Jeremy off the catamaran - who INSISTED we sit down at the bar and have a drink .... and hense the vodka and red bull for me ............. met lots of ozzies - got more numbers (girls this time) so Melbourn"s accomodation is sorted !!
so now blogging and will show our faces at a party on the beach in a bit ...............
so bye for now xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
