We've been in Thailand nearly a week and lost track of time as all we've been doing is swimming, sunning ourselves, having massages, eating and reading. It's a tough time!
We spent two nights on Koh Samui on Bo Phut Beach, which was quiet and quite idyllic - swaying palm trees, turquoise water, white sand, and candlelit dinners on the sand. We stayed in a great beach bungalow called 'Free House Bungalows', and paid less than 10 quid a night. The food was amazing too - lots of curries and stir frys and coconut shakes. Each afternoon a big storm would roll across the sea and as it started raining it was our cue to get an hour-long massage in a beach hut. We decided we need an annual Thailand holiday - we've been here half a dozen times before but forget how good it is until we're back!
From Samui we got a catamaran to Koh Tao, a smaller island in the Samui archipelago. It's renowned for its diving and is meant to be quiet and laid-back, but development has set in since the guidebooks have been published. It's all low-key development - bunglaows and the like - but much busier than we'd hoped, although we did get there the day after a full moon party on a neighbouring island. Still, Koh Tao is a lovely, picturesque place - long white sandy beaches, big boulders like the ones in the Seychelles, lovely water, coconut palm trees everywhere and a nice relaxed vibe. Like on Samui, all we did was eat and walk and have a massage. I had an aloe vera wrap massage as I'd been sunburnt one day - it was the perfect antidote.
We're now in Hua Hin, a seaside resort town some three hours south of Bangkok. We're visiting my Dad, which is lovely. Once more we're just enjoying not doing much!
Sorry about the title of this blog. Dan's choice - he thought it would get more readers!
Thai boxing tomorrow night, so I'm sure there'll be some gore to tell of after that!

I'll be there in just 6 short days...thanks for giving me an accurate picture of what I might expect (as I sit in my office, bored and ready to vacation!).
