Chaweng Beach
Beach vendor preparing pineapples and corn on the cob Chaweng Beach! We have arrived!
Expecting it to be fairly quiet being low season, we were surprised to find that the place is kicking! Although its fair to say that probably 60% of the population is Israeli (sorry Shents . . ).
The place has not changed, in fact, there seems to be more clubs and things being built all the time. First day on the beach we headed to the Ark Bar - couldn't resist the pull of all that techno (hmm) pumping out whilst being surrounded by the body beautifuls! It is baking here tho and we could only stick about half hour actually in the sun- the rest of the time spent under the shade, moaning about our english rose complexions. Geen sampled the corn on the cob cooked on the little bbqs that the beach vendors carry round day in, day out - no good for the cholestrol but delicious all the same!
Ate at the Islander (remember the jacket spuds, Trude and Kel?) and then dolled ourselves up for a night out at the infamous Green Mangoes. Several smirnoff ices, chang beers and baileys on ice later we ended up where you always do in the

Just the cutest! absence of a kebab shop . . McDonalds! A decision we instantly regretted the next day thinking how we're never gonna reach the dizzy heights of those bronzed size 8 beauties at this rate! Ah, never mind. . signing off now but will keep you all posted. X
