Sunday 30th July Paul - Caught our cataraman to Ko Pha Ngan with no worries. Did see the funniest English girls ever in the queue, standing hands on hips, chewing gum, and staring down their noses at everyone like they were the bees knees. We presumed - straight out of college and Daddy was paying for their holiday and "like oh my god I don't want to sleep anywhere like disgusting."
The sea was really choppy and if the boat had been any longer I'm pretty sure I'd have been sick. Fortunately 1 hour later the boat docked and there was no projectile vomit to be seen. Caught a taxi to the beach we wanted to go to with 6 other people. It is right on the other side of the island through the jungle so it took about 45 minutes to get there. When we arrived I let Laura and Holmsy go and find a nice place while I looked after the bags. I'm nice and considerate you see. It was a tough job looking after all those bags but someone had to sit on their arse and do it. And order a banana shake as well.
After quite a bit of searching we (well I say we - I mean Laura's searching) checked into a very nice hut right on the beach. It was a bit pricier than we wanted but everywhere else seemed to be pretty disgusting. This seems to be a running theme in Thailand. Killed the obligatory cockroach that was lurking behind our bed before running the 10 metres into the sea. What mature kids we are! Well Laura and I anyway. Holmsy sat reading his book pretending he didn't know the idoits splashing each other in the water!
Frolicked around until the sunset and we went and had some food. Not the greatest so I don't think we'll be eating there again. Had a really fun night though, drinking vodka and playing Holmsy's Ipod really loudly. The beach is deserted at night so as we were right on the sea front we could do pretty much what we wanted.
Monday 31st July Paul - The start of our very lazy beach days. Basically ate food and read our books. I think that's all we did. Oh, we also went swimming in the crystal clear water and threw the
tennis ball around a bit.
Laura - The most energetic part of the day probably involved scrambling over some rocks to take a sneaky peak at the exclusive hillside hotel, complete with private beach. We didn't dare venture in, I don't think oiks like us are the usual customers. Not that we'd WANT to stay there of course. Our beach hut is fantastic (thanks to MY energetic traipsing up and down the beach in the midday sun to find it), if not a little pricier than what we'd usually pay. The hillside hotel looked a bit like the hotel out of The Shining if you ask me anyway...
On our way back over the rocks we had a laugh at the expense of a group of 'daddy's girls' who were nervously dipping their feet in the water and squealing that they were scared.
Tuesday 1st August Laura - The days all blur into one really, with all the sunbathing, swimming in the perfect sea, eating nice food and drinking cocktails. There may have been some card games and watching the waves lapping on the beach from our balcony...
We also have managed to entertain
ourselves watching the local island dogs who roam around in packs and have fights with each other now and then if they stray into each other's territory. We have picked out a big bully dog and a little stirring bitch. It's more entertaining than Neighbours.
Wednesday 2nd August Paul - Laura and I got up at 9 and went for breakfast. Holmsy decided to sleep in for the morning so we read on the beach. Had a relaxing swim in the sea before waking up Holmsy so we could go for some lunch.
After lobbing the tennis ball around in the sea for about 2 hours we climbed back on to the beach for the afternoon's entertainment, courtesy of a hilarious tour from the "party beach" otherwise known as Hat Rin. I think our beach probably has 20 people maximum on it at any time... well here came the party boat with about 50 people on. They all piled on and Laura was the first to start laughing at the girls, most of them had belts on over their swim wear (Laura - plus the obligatory Topshop aviator sunglasses).
They pulled crates of beer out
of their bags and settled down together right in front of the boats! Now, if I was to come to a beach that is about a mile long I wouldn't sit down right in front of a horrible boat. Anyway, another guy pulled a PIPE, yes you read that right a PIPE, out of his bag and started smoking. We all half expected him to pull a scarf out and throw it round his neck, followed by some loafers.
The worst thing about it all, after they had left there was rubbish all over the beach where they had been sat. What wankers. I don't think I need to tell you that most of them were British.
Had a really fun night after that though, drinking in various bars and eating good food.
Thursday 3rd August Paul - We all woke with hangovers and headed out to breakfast feeling slightly worse for wear. Bought our tickets to Krabi for tomorrow so this would be our last day on this beach. It's been very relaxing and peaceful here, I've really enjoyed it.
The worst news of the day would have to be when I came
on the internet MICHAEL REDDY has handed in a transfer request! Well, I didn't think we'd be going up anyway but looks like we have serious problems now.
Spent the afternoon doing the usual, swimming, reading and Holmsy also bought a chess set so we will be starting our chess tournamant tonight.
The only thing worth reporting about the evening is that I took a solid lead in the chess tournament, demolishing both my opponents!

Me and chad were just reading your blog and we want more pictures of Paul!! He looks quite sexually attractive with his new beach babe look!! We have two weeks left in tropical Cardiff and then back to good old Grimsby!! Try not to miss us too much!! Grimsby lost 3-0 to wrexham last night!! They won their first game 3-2 with a shockingly amazing last 20 minute comeback!! I think there going to get relegated to be honest!!!
