Well I have finally dried off. Water festival was last week and even though I wasn't in one of the major cities I got plenty wet! SInce it is also a Burmese holiday it was celebrated in camp as well. basically imagine the biggest water fight you can and that is water festival. In Mae Sot people on the street had buckets and barrels of water at the wiat and anyone who goes buy will be splashed. I thought I might be safe in a songthu but nope they are just bigger targets and people put barrels of water in the back of their cars and drive around splashing each other. Burmese are a little less energetic in their splashing they usually ask and ten they pour the water down your back. The other common thing is covering people with baby powder. This was fine but once in awhile some one will use a medicated one and your face starts tingling! It was fun the first day but then after a few days you do get tired of always having wet underwear! 😊
