Wihan Phra Mangkha
The Biggest Buddha in Thailand, apparently Im beginning to think im becoming an insomniac. despite only getting two houts sleep two nights ago, i only manage two hours again despite being knackered- hopefully its a phase that will pass very soon!
Today we were up at 10ish and decided to explore Ayuthaya, we hired a bike each for the day, for 45p! We covered pretty much the whole city at a leisurely pace. We visited most of the ruins that were scattered around the city-it seems Ayuthaya has seen a few wars in its time, it did used to be the capital city after all. We also visited a temple called Wihaan Phra Mongkhon Bophit, which contains one of the biggest statues of Buddha in Thailand The ruins of the Old Palace, Wat Phra Si Sanphet were the most impressive, we even had to pay 40p to see them, what is the world coming to!!
After cycling for hours in the blazing sun, where incidentaly we bumped into random German guy about 38 times, we were flaking out so we headed for some food. We went to this place by the river where
Jonnys careers in Ruins
Some random ruins of a temple in Ayuthya i had a Papaya Fruit Shake and this Hot and Spicy Chicken thinng, and before you all start it was DEFINITELY chicken-and it was well good.
We managed to lose Will on the cycle back for about 30 minutes, but he found us again eventually, this city doesnt feel threatening at all anyways. The people are sooo friendly and love English things especially football. I had my Engalnd top on with Gerrards name on the back And locals were always stopping me and syaing very goog very good. Ive seen a few Liverpool, Chelsea and Man Utd tops
Ive actually got some clothes in the wash now, so i cant escape all home comforts! Probably moving on to a place called Phitsanaluk tommorow, should be fun on the train agan!
See yous
