WE arrived yesterday morning, the 5th February. It was clear and bright about 24 degrees. Whilst we both had some kip on the plane (me mostly) we were knackered!! The management found us a room straightaway (booking in time is usually lunchtime. Still the Merchant Court is a lovely hotel based on Clarke Quay in the central district. Anyway after couple of cups of coffee we had a few hours kip and were ready for the world. Our room has access to a Exec suite where there are beverages on tap free (including alcohol) from 6 - 8 in the evening plus canapes.

For this first day there are a selection of photos around Singapore, especially the very impressive Marina Bay Sands hotel which we walked to today. We went up to the top for a view and had some lunch, by this time it was over 30 degrees C (hot, hot, hot).

The picture of what looks like a sauceboat is what we had for dinner last night - Assorted lobster platter, which was very nice.
