It's day two and the unthinkable has happened, my notebook is playing up. On top of my phone getting smashed this is obviously not ideal. But not a show stopper by any means, more than likely I'll try get it fixed in Bangkok. That should be an adventure and a story all on its own.

Anyway i leave Criag's place at 10am to go and explore sg's food offerings on the back of a number of recommendations from the lonley planet. I hail a cab on the main road (River Valley rd), and ask the driver to take us to Purvis st and Seah st respectively. They are both with in a short of each other. The first place I visit is Killiney Kopitiam on Purvis st to order the kaya toast and a kopi it's not knock your socks off good as the Lonely Planet suggests but it's not bad. A little small for western standards but it does only cost 3.40SGD, in hindsight I think I could have had 3 or 4 of them. The meal is definiately different but nothing spectaular, we don't do anything like it in Australia that I know of.

Next it's time to try some chicken rice and beef noodles which is also meant to be really good here as well. I make my way over to Seah st for chicken rice and hock lam beef noodles. For 7SGD I get the number 5 option or a beef supreme but without the tendon, which is a little bit of everything. There are beef balls, beef and all sorts of other parts of the cow, that I described but that are commonly found at yum cha back home. It is pretty good but we do get stuff like it back home but no where near as cheap.

Next stop is sin swee kee which is a couple of doors down from hock lam beef noodles for some hiananise chicken...yo! No trip to singapore seems complete with some of this. dang!! That was ultra quick, I hadn't even sat down and the food is already here, that's gangsta for sura bro!! 5.50SGD, is a good deal. If you keep in mind that the exchange rate is 1.20sgd to every 1aud it's cheap. The price would still be cheap
Or at least competitive if they were aud.

You can order breast or thigh it comes out and the usual condiments are on the table for you to help yourself. It's pretty good the chicken nice and tender which is hard to do with a breast bit of chicken that also is skinless a winner in my books thank you very much.

All three though very different had one thing in common, no tissues or serviettes at the table. Taboo! However all were very good meals, I am so full!

It's time to head back to Craig's to grab my bags and take on the MTR for the journey to the airport.

Wow. However the MRT have come up with this system, it works and it's amazingly efficient traveling from anyway on the line to the airport, seamless to say the least. It's very easy, safe (in the middle of the day) and cheap. Well done Singapore! Anyone could really do, to honest once you get to a "station" anywhere on the line any train changes that are nesscessarily and all very intuitive. Off to Bangkok we go.

Well hello drama! So apparently I didn't purchase checked-in luggage, they let me checkin in sydney for free but they are expecting me to pay 40sgd to check in my luggage now. What an outrage. This is all going from bad to worse, I should really have knob better than to fly with Scoot. Had to be dramas sooner or later.

At 14:28 I spoke to the lady serving on counter 8 of row 10. She asked for my intinery then proceeded to circle the baggage icon to indicate to me that I did not have check in luggage. Unbelievable too good I be true then it probably is. Scoot there you go. Disappointed to say the least, to be honest I should have just paid the extra and saved myself all the hassle.

Sitting in changi airport waiting fr my flight to Bangkok, it is a lonely road traveling alone. I must admit that there have been highlights so far but I think I would give up a lot of this to travel and experience the world with my friends.

Going through immigration in Bangkok is a nightmare the line s massive and they have sets of immigration I suppose a testament to how many travelers come through the gates of sukimivate airport each day, many of them Australian I might add.
