the best place ever OMG!!! u guys should visit Palawan. I am proud to say that I am a Palaweno. I spent 13 years of my life in this beautiful place and studied there also, before i moved here on Guam..... Anyways...Palawan is a good place for weddings, Birthdays (especially mga debu), vacations, and summer. bisitahin n'yo ang masasabi kong pinaka magandang lugar na makikita n'yo sa balat ng lupa. Mula sa mga malls, playgrounds for kids, schools, churches, beautiful sceneries, bonggacious na mga houses ng mga mayayaman, festivals, at higit sa lahat mga beaches. At tsaka it is 89.99% cleaner than other places in the Philippines. I would say that Philippines is home of awesome, beautiful, cool, and exciting places that everyone is wishing for.... wag n'yo ng hintayin na pumuti ang uwak....visit Palawan at 'di kayo magsisisi sa inyong pamasahe..... I assure you guys that if you visit Palawan, you would say...... I want to stay here forever and ever...
no malls i have never seen malls in this place which could be perfect place for entertainment and economic developments.
Hopefully, local governments will start rethinking on how they could go globally not only on tourism but also those matters which can make puerto princesa to be known as the philippines most economically and advanced lifestyle for better living. " A PERFECT LIFE AT FULLEST ADOPTATION OF DEVELOPMENTS>"
need to be like BAHAMAS and MIAMI at the same time Puerto Princesa is a perfect place to develop like MIAMI and BAHAMAS. I have been there many times.
To local government officials, I would like to request to make your place alike those i have mentioned. Invite investors around the world not only for tourism industry but also for business and entertainment. A PERFECT PLACE FOR LIFETIME SHOULD BE FOR THIS PLACE>
Hopefully, this will be marked as consciousness to the Government Officials of Puerto Princesa.
I LOVE THIS PLACE> And I WILL BE MORE LOVING IF THIS COULD GO FAR BEYOND TOURISM>
Edgar Hegadorn I arrived with my Filipina companion July 2010 simply drawn by the mystique of Palawan. First impressions of Puerto Princesa were not amazing, but I was on a quest to find a sculpture and Pacific Rim Park by San Diego artist, James Hubbell. The locals hadn't a clue, thus we visited city hall and were swept off our feet by kind hospitality. I had worked with James, so wasn't just another tourist off the street, but the city engineer arranged a tour to the site which was some distance away yet one of the most beautiful drives through lush green countryside one could imagine. En route, we passed perhaps the most progressive prison in the world. Prisoners farm in this paradise living with their families. Now that makes genuine rehabilitation possible.
The monument at the park was built in collaboration with architecture students from the USA, Korea, China, Russia and the Philippines and will be the center piece of a future Eco-Park. Subsequently, we were treated to lunch at a magnificent waterfront restaurant and invited to a booster dinner for the mayor's reelection. Mayor Hegadorn and staff have done wonders reforming former arsenic and explosive fishermen into ecologically conscious citizens. They promote only tourism and agriculture. Illegal forestry has been halted. They have enacted a litter law that is working. I also visited the Palawan State University and was suitably awed by the beauty of their campus. Visitors can rent a hotel room on the campus as they train students in tourism and hospitality. This city has a vision and a momentum that deserves support worldwide.
The Underground River, a potential World Heritage site, is a day's drive away. The trip is several hours but through extraordinary landscapes and the River itself is lovingly maintained. The mini- port of Sabang is on my list of favorite places.
