Corregidor Island

This is where HISTORY happened. A huge chunk of Philippine history occured on this historic place. This was were the Americans and Filipinos united in fighting against the Japanese.

Corregidor is a good 1.5-2 hr ferry ride from Manila.
The place is also known as the ROCK. It is a small island shaped like a tadpole.
The island is strategically located in the mouth of Manila Bay. This was the reason the Japanese and Americans fought for this island, because of its wonderful location.
A lof of soldiers - Japanese, Americans and Filipinos, died on the island making it a creepy place to visit.
No one is allowed to permanently reside on the Island as it is a very significant historic site for Filipinos, as well as for Americans.

People can visit the island for a day tour (10 AM to 3 PM) or you can stay in The Corregidor Hotel (Inn?).
You can also pay Php150 for a ghost hunting experience if you are staying there overnight. I heard that you will be going to the hospital where a lot of solidiers dide. Creepy.

There are currently 3 foreigners living on the island, Americans

Main mode of transportation while on the island
and Australians I think. I am not sure as to why they are there 😊

To go here, book with Sun Cruises as they are the exclusive tour operator for Corregidor.
Trip costs Php 2000 per head which includes: ferry ride, buffet lunch with welcome drinks, English speaking tour guide, Entrance fees

You may pay an additional Php150 for the Malinta Tunnel Lights and Sounds show. This show which is inside the tunnel, will show you a brief history of the place. You will walk from the West entrance and exit to the East side.

This place is definitely worth a visit.

"I shall return" was quoted by McArthur when he got to Australia. He halfheartedly left Corregidor as per orders of the Pres of US that time
