Santo Niño Church I was born and raised in Cebu City and for my entire 26 years living in the City, I have never been able to visit all the places since I am not really a big fan of the local attractions. But this was until I made a decision to try a City tour together with my college friends.
Me and college friends went together to experience some of the local attractions and destinations there is in the City.
Although it was my first time trying this kind of tour, I am not completely ignorant about the places that are famous or on a trend in the City since I could see them being talked about in the social networking sites.
Before we start with the places that we have visited, I just wanna say that if you are planning on having such tour, it is better to go using a private car or have a local tour agency to help you with your adventure. There’s loads of agencies in the City that will be more than happy to help you with your tour. Since we don't have a private

Santo Niño Church car, we booked a tour from a local tour agency and we were very pleased from the start of our tour until the end because the agency is so customer friendly and very helpful.
Okay, enough with the chit chat and let’s hop on to the places that we have been to and I’m sure you’re gonna love every bit of it.
On our first stop, we went to
Basilica Minore del Santo Niño. We chose this place to start our tour to ask for blessing and guidance from above to help us have a safe tour. Usually, this won’t be the first stop from the itinerary provided by the agency, but since we really want to have it first, they were happy to customize our tour instead and have the sequence of places to visit chosen by us.
Although we have to keep things clear and easy as well for the trip so that we won’t be wasting time from going to such places to visit the said attraction then go to another place that is far then afterwards will go to a place that is near the first place we

Magellan's Cross have been to, that’s annoying and it is so time consuming and it is not really a good choice. So in the end, we gave them an ideal itinerary and they tweak some of it to make perfect!
After going to the famous and old church in Cebu, we then went to the adjacent famous spot which is the
Magellan’s Cross. The cross was said to be a Christian cross that was planted by the Portuguese and Spanish explorers way back 1521. It was planted by Ferdinand Magellan upon his arrival in the island of Cebu.
We took some photos and we took turns to take a photo for each of us. We were enjoying every bit of it and although we have just started, we really were very hype for the coming places to visit!
The next stop is the Fort San Pedro, it is not far from Santo Niño church and Magellan’s Cross so it is the most ideal spot to go to next.
The fort is said to be a military defense structure in Cebu, that was built by the Spanish under

Magellan's Cross the command of
Miguel López de Legazpi way back 1565. As always, we did took photos and we really had a good time riding the cannons and we even have some decent photos that is worth posting on our Instagram accounts!
I have never thought that I would really enjoy this much since as I have said, I am not that fond of going to local attractions. But hey! I really did have a great time and I have never regretted it!
After running around and playing like a kid in the Fort San Pedro, we then went to
Taoist Temple. Although our supposed next stop was Yap San Diego Ancestral House, we have decided not to go there, instead we go directly to Taoist Temple.
Taoist Temple is a taoist temple (duh! It’s pretty obvious already haha) that is located in Beverly Hills Subdivision and it was built by the Chinese community way back 1972.
After taking photos and looking at the huge koi and goldfish, we then went to our next spot which is my favorite. We went to a fastfood chain to eat our lunch,

Fort San Pedro although it was already around 2pm but we didn’t feel hungry until 2pm since we had our breakfast around 9 before we start our tour at 10 in the morning.
After eating lunch or snack, we then continue with our tour, and our next stop to visit is in the mountainous area which is the Temple of Leah. The temple was inspired from the Roman temples and it was built to dedicate the love of Teodorico Soriano Adarna to his late wife Leah Albino-Adarna. Such pure love! I would like to have one as well haha
Then we went to Sirao Garden or Sirao Flower Farm. The said place was known as the Mini Amsterdam of the Philippines. It has loads of beautiful flowers and I really love this place a lot! We have decided to take the remaining hours of our allocated tour in this place since me and my friends were in love with the place and the view!
We were only given 8 hours for the said half day tour in the City and every bit of it is something that will forever leave a

Fort San Pedro mark on my heart! I am in love with the beautiful and historic places in our City that I could have without spending so much!
That concludes my love for the local attractions in our area, although I wasn’t fond of local attractions, after spending hours looking at the beautiful flowers in the so called mini Amsterdam, I realized that I should do this more often. That I should love the places, the history, everything that is from the Philippines because I am a Filipina and I should be proud of what we have.
Special thanks to the
tour agency that helped me realized how beautiful Cebu is. Thank you for the awesome experience!
