View from the advance camp of Khusar Gung Peak 6400MKhusar Gung Peak (6400m) is located in Shigar Valley of Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan, which has the easiest access to reach its Base Camp in a very short of time and in one day you may be in the base camp from Skardu. It is in an open zone where you do not require any permit and formality, may directly go there. The meaning of Khusar Gung in the Balti language means Ice Pumpkin. It is an easy peak who have the experience of climbing and know the use of climbing equipment and should have high altitude experience. well-equipped and physical fitness is very important to climb this peak. It also required good weather condition to summit. There is crossing the ice with mixed little rocks, have little difficulty and best period to climbed this peak is July – August and can do this till October depending over the weather condition. You need crampons, gather, ice-axe, snow shoes and rope. View of Khusar Gung Peak from its advance Camp leads tot eh top and from top you may have the view of mighty K 2, Broad Peak, Masherbrum and many other peaks of Baltoro.
Please keep in mind that you should be good acclimatized before because it is very short time to the summit and it is shown on the maps 6400M, do not think so high, that is around 6100M, anyway we follow the maps one. After Skardu you may drive to Kashmal Village by jeep almost two hours’ drive and from there treks starts to Base Camp.
ITINERARY
Day-01: Flight to Islamabad- PAKISTAN
Day-02: Arrival Islamabad, meet with our guide and transfer to the hotel, in the rest of time sightseeing of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, overnight at hotel
Day-03: Drive to Chilas via Babu Sar Pass or on KKH, overnight at hotel
Day-04: Continue to Skardu, overnight at hotel
Day-05: Walk to Satpara Lake and walk around the town (for the acclimatization)
Day-06: Drive to Shigar 2 hours then trek 4 hours to Base Camp
Day-07: Trek to Advance Camp
Day-08: Climb to summit and back to Base Camp
Day-09: Trek down 3 hours to Shigar

Day-10: Fly to Islamabad or drive to Chilas/hotel
Day-11: Islamabad or continue to Islamabad
Day-12: Departure from Islamabad (drop to airport)
