Hunza is located in the extreme north of Pakistan in Gilgit-Baltistan (Northern Areas), fortified by the gaint mountain ranges of Karakoram, Himalayas, Hindu-kush and Pamirs through the Wakhan Corridor and further north neighbored by the heavenly mountains of Tianshan and Kunlunsun and historic city of Kashgar. The legendary land of Hunza is most majesticlly placed on the roof of the world. It falls on a junction of old silk route, now replaced by the KKH, Karakoram Highway, « 8th wonder of the world », snaking into the people’s Republic of China through the Khunjerab Pass 4733M, between Oxus and Indus. It is no doubt the SHANGRI LA, Heaven on earth.
Hunza had been an indpendent state till 1974, ruled by the king," tham". Known for its far crag mountains, glaciers, men made oasis and fairy lands and reknown for bravery, hardwork, longevity, hospitality and distinct cultural heritage, the people of Hunza have kept their autnomy for centuries and championed the ideals of freedom, equality and peace in the region.

View of Hunza River with Autumn colours Sightseeing tour of Hunza commences with visit of famous Baltit Fort 800 years old that has been restored by the Aga Khan Cultural Services. Altit Fort 900 years old that is located on the top of ruby marble rock cliff. The architure is clear indication of the Tibetan influence. This fort was built by the craftmen from Baltistan when the ruler of Hunza was married with princess of Baltistan who bought with her many Balti craftmen as part of her dowery to constuct this fort. Ganish Fort is also worth to see that has been also restored recently. In Gulmit Village there is local museum in local traditional house with unique collection of Hunza histroy, maps, utensils, musical instruments, a stuffed snow leopard, gems etc on display. You may visit to Rock carving at Donaydas that is calle Hunza scared rocks and ruby mine. You can have boat safari at newly formed lake (Attabad Lake) due to huge landslide that blocked the Hunza River.
The view points for the landscape are Duikar-Altit 3000M, the highiest point of the valley that gives magestic view of mountians and valleys. The Borith Lake, nice place to have the view of the mountains,

A truck on the Karakoram Highway at PAssu Hunza walking over the Gulkin Glacier and from Borit Lake to Passu is unforgettable experience. The Shimshal, Chupursan and Misgar are the remotest valleys of the Hunza and have link roads to from Karakoram Highway. From Karimabad you may visit to the Hopar and Summyar in Nagar Valley, across the karimabad (Hunza is commonly used for the entire valley, in fact there are two former princely states, Hunza and Nagar). Nagar occupies the entire south side of the Valley and north side around Chalt and famous peak Rakaposhi 77880M is located in Nagar Valley. Nagar and central Hunza shared the language and ancestry, face one another across the river and during the kingdomes also migrated to each other valleys, so have some same tribes in these valley. Nagar is home to some of the best treks in the Karakorum. There is famous mine (Chhumar Bakor) in the Summyar, just in-fornt of the Diran Peak. In Hopar-Nagar Valley easy access to walk on the glacier and can have very nice view of peaks on Hunza side.

A face from High Mountain Valley of Karakorams "Hunza" leaves of the trees become yellow and redish, looks very beautiful with fall colors. The suitable period to visit to this mountain valley is April to end of October. Hunza is connected from Islamabad (capital of the country) by road and by air to Gilgit (55 mintues flight) then by road to Hunza Valley 3-4hrs drive. But all the flights to Gilgit from Islamabad are subjected to weather condition. You may also approach from China Tashkurgan-Kashgar via Khunjerab Pass 4733m.

Drive to Gilgit 3-4 hrs, visit Kargha Budddha and Gilgit Bazaar. Afternoon continue drive to Hunza-Karimabad 3-5 hrs on KKH, arrival and transfer to hotel for overnight
5th October 2017: In the morning excursion by jeep to Hopar in Nagar Valley and back to Karimabad then evening drive to Duikar, highest point of the valley can have sunset view and overnight at Duikar.
6th October 2017: In the morning can have the sunraise view and walk down to Altit village then drive to the lake ( newly formed lake), in the way visit to rock carving and ruby mine at Donydas, boat safari around 2-3 hrs then on another side and drive to Passu, visit of village, overnight at hotel
7th October 2017: Walk on Passu Glacier and visit of suspension Bridge, overnight at Pasu or Sost
8th October 2017: Drive to Lake and on boat to cross the lake then drive to Karimabad, overnight at hotel
9th October 2017: Drive to Gilgit via Minapin, overnight at hotel
10th October 2017: Fly from Gilgit to Islamabad OR drive to Naran via Babusar Pass or drive to Besham, overnight at hotel
