Deboche to Pheriche,
Today hike was beautiful and fairly relaxing. It was mainly along a high ridge following the river. We are now above the trees and the wind is brutal. We saw our first and only wildlife, two mountain goats. The tea houses have been a pleasant surprise. The rooms are very basic and have no heat, but the common rooms are usually warm and comforting. They have benches along the window walls, usually on three sides, with cushions or heavy rugs. Then the table all line up and chairs on the other sides. It is getting hard to remember which one is which since they all look alike on the inside. The food seems to be getting a little worse, but still edible. After lunch we visited the Himalayan Rescue Association. They were giving a lecture on Altitude Sickness and all of it's verities. They really promote the use of Diamox for altitude, but so far I haven't taken any.
