Again, for acclimatisation reasons, I climbed up above Yak Kharka by myself. A good 300m above the town is a fantastic little field where you can sit down and rest in front of a truly amazing view. This is only a small part of it.

This is around 4300m above sea level. It's hard to breath, hard to walk, and generally uncomfortable to be at.

We climbed a little up the hillside the night before attempting the pass to help us sleep better at 4450m. This was the view looking back out across the valley.

The rest of the team didn't feel as energetic as I did and they turned back towards the warm hotel before I did.

Top story... I am sure that we will all hear from Ben how he saved the day on more than one occasion.... I can hear all the Donkey stories now.... Some one needs to take some round up for those weeds... looks like an infestation. Stay safe and merry X-mass to all.

Matty, you must be desperate for a MATTY IS FAT comment, re: sitting on a bee. A half-dozen situation-appropriate jibes spring to mind immediately and I never even got into the whole thing. I can only imagine how many more opportunities the situation presents for the highly trained Matty-is-fat commentators. Have a great Christmas etc...!
