I along with my family was on an Annapurna Family Trek, right after the lockdown in Nepal. We were bored staying at home during the quarantine. Right after the tourism Board of Nepal published news that tourism opened in the trekking trails of Nepal. We decided to make a family trip to the area. We made sure that we were COVID-19 negative by doing a PCR Test and started the trek with the representatives of Heaven Himalaya who organized the trek.
It has been two days since we returned from the trek and I have already started missing the mountains. Annapurna Family Trek was the best choice for all of us and we were completely amazed to see the majestic mountains right before our eyes. Family trek to Annapurna is most likely the only journey that transforms dreams into a reality. It is the most astounding evergreen track from Nayapul. We get a brief look into the Annapurna ranges, pleasant towns, and staggeringly one of a kind neighborhood inhabitant when we enter the area.
Poonhill – An Amazing vantage point in Annapurna
We had to walk a lot, but it was fun. Chatting and making fun of each other, we managed to hike upwards from the beginning 1300m height to our objective Poonhill at 3210m. Poonhill was not on their agenda but rather we altered the schedule and added it. Poonhill offered us with the perspective on entrancing dawn over the Annapurna tops as the sun transcends the Annapurna vistas; it changes its tone to glossy brilliant like it is becoming flushed at a dash of beams of the sun. We should state Poonhill itself is one of the most intriguing highlights of this trip!
The descending journey from Poonhill was incredibly unique about that of upwards, adding flavor to the trip. Our guide had informed us that the trails will be covered with beautiful rhododendron flowers during the spring season. We did not see any of the Rhododendron flowers as we were traveling in the Autumn Season, but we captured some of the glimpses of the marigold flowers looking up the sky.
Clear Sky and splendid mountain views
Moreover, we also had an amazing opportunity to stare at the sky-high peaks over 8000m including Mt. Annapurna (8093m), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m) as well as other snowy peaks of Himchuli, Tukuche Peak, Lamjung Himal, Nilgiri, and plenty of other green hills that added beauty and adventure in the trek. Not only these, but this trek also allowed us to admire the beauty of the famous Mt Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) which is said to be one of the most beautiful mountains in the world as its peak is similar to the tail of a fish. My mother loved the mountain, and it is her favorite mountain now. The best destination we reached after Poonhill was the Australian Base Camp. We must say the Australian Base Camp can give you the best view of the mountains. When it comes to trekking in Nepal, the Annapurna region is the must to visit the area in the lap of the green Himalayas.
Pokhara- A tourism City
Enjoying some fantastic views from the Australian Base Camp we headed to Pokhara and then to Sarangot. I must say Sarangkot is the most visited destination in Pokhara. The beautiful Phewa Lake, green hills and the cold wind touching your face takes you to the top of your imagination and refreshes your mind. Sarangkot offers an astounding view of Pokhara city and the mountains in the Annapurna Massif. As it was getting colder as the sun began to set, we headed down to Pokhara to spend the night there.
In Pokhara too, we visited many popular sites like Guheswori temple, David falls, Mahendra Cave, etc. We also visited the International Mountain Museum where we could see the great mountaineers and their left-behind facts and things. The most fun part in Pokhara was, we saw a man-made mountain inside the territory of the International Mountain Museum in Pokhara. We had a competition to climb that mountain that looked alike like Machhapuchhre. Proud to say that only I could conquer the mountain but could not slide back from the top. We cannot just imagine how the real mountaineers climb the real mountains. Hats Off and a grand salute to all the mountaineers. After the competition in the International Mountain Museum in Pokhara, we headed to our hotel and had an amazing dinner. In the night we came to the lakeside to see the reflection of the moon in the Phewa lake. Later tomorrow we were safely landed here in Kathmandu from where we started the trek.
We had an amazing time during the trek. Thank you, all the porters and guides who accompanied us, on the trek to help us succeed. This is by far the best time we had in the mountains. This trek should definitely be on your to-do list of treks in Nepal.
