We only stayed in K.L. one day because we wanted to get to the beaches. We stopped one night in Cherating on our way up to Pulau Perentians. When we did arrive on the smaller island, I couldn’t actually believe it. This is paradise. Perfect. Adam had found on someone else’s blog this place where we are staying. The pictures show how great it is, no funky photoshopping going on. We’re doing what you can imagine: swimming and night swimming, hiking and night hiking, and I’m working on that snorkel stroke. I think we are staying here for a couple of weeks, maybe longer. We will have to move on to another place because there isn’t really electricity here, so we can’t work. (By “not really,” I mean, the lights come on at night if you want them, but there aren’t any sockets in the rooms or anything.)

The Chalets on Mira Beach

This is it on Mira Beach, and the solitude is wonderful. Each chalet is about ten dollars per night. And did I mention how great this beach is? Water is clear and free of coral to swim about.

We bought some "monkey juice" and spiked our fruit juices for cocktail hour.

The mosquito net works great here. As does the sea breeze to take care of bugs and heat.
