Tuesday 15^th May 2018

We came for the sunset…and the beach…and the beer…and the wine…and the big buffet breakfasts…and the twin double beds…and the bathtub…and the hilltop infinity pool with the stunning scenery. We got what we came for! Next week back to reality!

We have enjoyed two days of complete chill. Paradise! However, there is still so much to see and do before our Borneo experience comes to a close. So, tomorrow we shall rise early once more, pack our small day sacks and head off to the Bako National Park for the day. Hopefully we shall find some Proboscis monkeys and other creatures there. On Thursday we are going to visit the Sarawak Cultural Centre, which is just along the road from Damai Beach where we are staying, then on Friday we shall head back to Kuching.

What a detour! Well worth it. That beautiful infinity pool looks dreamy. I'm so glad you're enjoying a bit of luxury. You've earned it! Time for a refresh manicure? I was very impressed by Viv's hot red laquered finger nails while trekking in jungle territory. Have they lasted from Spain or have they been re-done in Indonesia? They reminded me of Kate Adie wearing her pearl earrings when she was reporting from the frontline during the Gulf war. Respect!! Thanks for the message about the tiny notebook and pencil. I should have realised. It certainly earns its place in your luggage. I smiled at your account of finding yourselves bobbing in the South China Sea on your small ferry. At last paradise
We can’t keep up with you two. What a beautiful place to relax and get your strength back. We are off to a tea dance to celebrate the Rotak wedding. Cucumber sandwiches, cake and a glass of something on the invitation so we can’t compare. Love Barb and Dave xx

Hope we get to see it on TV here. Think we shall. We are 7 hours agead of UK tine so will be an evening viewing. Pity but I don't think we shall be able to rustle up any cucumber sandwiches! Xxx
