After leaving work at the end of March, and before setting off on my travels, I decided to see some of Malaysia that I hadn't seen in my 3 years here
So Ed and I set off on a road trip .... 1st stop Taman Negara
The rainforest is millions of years old, and we spent a few hot, sweaty days walking in the jungle, fighting off leaches, and trying not to bump into too much woldlife!
Went on a wet boat trip up the river, ate good food in the floating restaurants, and swam in the hotel's small pool
Got up early on the first morning to walk while the heat wasn't so bad, and before most people set off.. climbed Bukit Terasik and watched the morning mist rise through the valley (wish we'd stuck to the same track the next day, when we accidentally ended up having to run through "leech valley" with a pot of salt in one hand and a can off Off! in the other.. trying to stop the leeches wriggling into our shoes... Yuk! .. had to have a large G&T when we got out of there!)
Would like to
have stayed longer, and done more of the jungle trails, but the beach was calling..........
