Langkawi - what a paradise...
2 & 1/2 hour ferry ride from Penang to Langkawi. Pleased that I didnt need to go back onto the mainland as it would have made the journey a whole deal longer.
Really nice scenery coming into Langkawi as you can see from the pics. Took a taxi (as there are no buses in Langkawi) to Pantai Cenang which is the main resort area for budget holiday hotels. The other beaches are for the more luxury resorts. Pantai Cenang is very nice though. Took myself on an orientation of the area, there's lots of shops & stuff to do. There is a sea life centre, pretty good - I attach some pics of things that were on view. Went for a swim in the afternoon and chilled then in the evening around the guesthouse. Beers are cheap here so that was me sorted for the evening...
Woke up early the next day & set off on a photo mission down by the beach. You can see some pretty amazing things by the sea shore in the morning and this was no exception. I saw a baby octopus, a big dead pufferfish and many
many hermit crabs. Got some fantastic pics of the sun rising too... Spent the rest of the day swimming and wondering around the resort. Nice relaxing day...
Loved relaxing in Langkawi.... there was lots more activities to do but sadly I didnt have much time. Fly to Kuching in Sarawak, Borneo tomorrow. Part 2 of the adventure....

crabs, beach, moneys and relaxation
Chris, Is there any way to teleport me to where you are just by closing my eyes, just like in the series Heroes? Gosh, it sounds like you are really having an amazing trip and the nature that you are enjoying is unbelievable! keep me updated with your travelblog, Maria
