Vientiane, Laos

Vientiane is the capital and largest city of the
Lao People's Democratic Republic, or Laos.
For a capital city is is pretty small and relaxed.
Most travellers seem to just pass through,
but I have spent some time here and found it
really nice.

It is located on the north side of the Mekong
river across from Nong Khai, Thailand.
They are linked by the Thai-Lao Friendship
Bridge built in the 1990s.

Between the iconic symbols Pha That Luang
and the Parisian style arch, Patuxay plus
visually stunning Buddha Park, Vientiane is
an interesting place to spend some time.
