Vang Vieng

What do ya say about Vang Vieng? I LOVE VANG VIENG!!!! Done.....

This is basically just the drinking capital of Asia as far as we could tell. After arriving late in the afternoon, we decided to pop into a local pub for food & a quiet drink. We stayed there in the same bar for 3 days...... (Well, not literally, but thats how it seemed.) Every bar has tv's that just show 'friends', 'family guy' or 'simpsons' all day every day!!! So depending on what mood you're in, depicts where you drink!!!! We spent day 1 watching friends & drinking.

We managed to get up on our second day there n decided to go tubing. This is just hopping on an inflatable ring and floating down the Mekong River. There are bars all along the banks that look for your custom so they throw you a rope and haul you in. (Every bar is compete against the next, so the promotions are great & the noise levels are serious). EVERY bar has FREE shots when you arrive off the water. As if that wasn't enough, we were drinking buckets (thats right, BUCKETS) of mixed drinks. We joined up with 2 other couples that we met and decided to drink with them for the day. Also, at every bar, there are rope swings, zipp lines, mudd wrestling pits, tugg-o-war and even just covering everyone in paint for the hell of it. (I think the pictures explain it better than i ever could.) We floated down river about 3/4 km's before arriving back to solid ground later that evening. We capped off the day by meeting everyone again in an auzzie bar for dinner, where the drinks continued to flow & the games of pool got progressivly worse.

The next day we were due to leave, but decided to just crash in another bar watching family guy for a few hours before heading in next door to watch a few hours of simpsons. Wasn't our most productive day, but what are ya gonna do. Beer Lao is sooooo good!!!!
