Luang Prabang is quite nice to visit, the night markets are very much all the same gear which was a bit disapointing. It'easy to get around & the footpaths are all done in paving bricks so you don't have to keep looking down as they are in good condition. We missed out on a sunset river cruise as by the time we noticed the advertisment for it , it was our last night & we 'd missed the 5.30pm sailing. That was the only thing we would have liked to do as the temple has 368 steps before you get to see the view over the city & we did'nt think we'd make it up them.Also our hotel was so lovely we sent a lot of time there enjoying the amenities especially the pool. All in all we both agreed Vang Vieng was the pick of places that we saw in Laos & there's a lot to do for younger , fitter people. We flew out of Luang Prabang international airport, very new & the easiest airport we've ever gone through.They were very laid back & friendly. Flew with Bangkok Airlines back to Bangkok & got a bus down to Pattaya, about 2 hours south of Bangkok on the coast. Very touristy place but we have an aussie friend who has moved their for good so it was nice to catch up with him.We are back in Bangkok for the last few days of our trip staying at Royal President Hotel one soi down from where we last stayed at Citrus soi 13.We got a cab from Pattaya, cost 1200 baht but picked us up from our central Pattaya hotel & detoured round to Citrus to pick up a large suitcase we'd left in storage their for weeks while on our travels.Then to Royal President, nice hotel as well.Pool looking good then off to MBK & Siam Paragon for last minute shopping. We fly out on Friday with Air Asia via Kuala Lumpur back in Oz on Saturday morning.
