Panoramic view of the Mekong River.
After a 30 something hours bus ride from Hanoi, we finally made it to Luang Prabang. It was the longest bus ride I'd ever taken and it was brutal. Although, the bus had seats the reclined into beds, it was still too long of a ride. We arrived well into the night. We quickly gathered our things and hailed a taxi wagon to out hostel. The guys working the front desk was a French guy. He checked us in and we were excited to finally be able to shower.
"I'm not sure if staying in dorms has taken its toll on me, but I'm starting to get aggravated with some roommates. I won't be mad about the pillow incident because its most likely the house keeper that took it. I'm having regrets about what I posted on a friend's Facebook. I was under the influences of alcohol and woman. Two dangerous combination. Ah..bitches, this world is full of them...Sandral also said some true things about my personality, but why should I be bother by it if
its true. No one can get to my emotions unless I let them.
Julia gave me some great advice today. First, was about how being overly Nationalistic can lead to dictatorship. I had never thought of it like that. Then the question of whether being good is better than being bad, when all you see are people who are being bad succeeding. In business, in relationships, etc. Julia brought up a good point about being patients for love even if it takes 20-30 years. The relationships that these so called players have are not really sustainable. Do you really want to be in a relationship with a girl when she is with you because you are an asshole to her? That girl has some serious issues and you do too if you are with her. Patient my brother. Life will unfolds. Patients..." Journal Entry: 03.08.2014

"This pain and discomfort never leaves me. I often wonder why I am so different? Why my life isn't like others? I would love to be settled down by now with a family, but I find myself alone. Alone and wandering...Searching for who knows what and whom knows where. It is this pain that I cannot escape. I will immerse myself in this pain and be one with it. The pain of loneliness...

Today I went out drinking with the group of Vietnamese girls. We all represented one of the three major regions of Vietnam. I also sang karaoke for the first time tonight. It was nerve wrecking and liberating at the same time. Laotians are very kind. Today during a mini van ride and there was a car on the side of the road that needed help. Without hesitation our driver stopped to help out." Journal Entry: 03.11.2014
Haw Kham (Royal Palace Museum) where the Phra Bang buddha statue is stored.
A UNESCO heritage site since the early 90s, Luang Prabang is a tourist friendly city to relax by the Mekong River with a couple of Beer Lao. The city got its name from the Phra Bang Buddha statue, a source of protection for the people of Laos. Surrounded by beautiful sceneries of northern Lao, Luang Prabang lured me into staying for nearly a week. Beautiful French colonial architectures. Well worth it.
Chill
Luang Prabang was chill. Chillest Tuk-Tuk drivers ever. I wish I'd explored more of northern Laos though...oh well. Next time!
The Mekong River via Luang Prabang.
Kuang Si Waterfall On my way to Kuang Si Waterfall.
A not so hidden oasis.
By far one of the most beautiful waterfall I've seen in my life. Its approximately 30km from downtown Luang Prabang, Laos. I mountain biked there with some Swedish friends. Unfortunately, I had to take a Tuk Tuk back. 30km is a lot farther than I thought.
Its like a fantasy.
