On the river boat crossing Mekong River to Laos
Today we continue our adventure through Laos down the River Mekong on a slowboat with a local Lao family, Mother, Sister and Husband. The landscape is very different on the Laos side consisting of lots of green vegetation, forests and mountain rugged terrain.

We stop over to a local tribe in the mountains and the children are curious to see & meet us, they are so young. The boat is stuck in the mud and the locals push the boat into the river.

We stop overnight in Pak Beng village where I experience Buffalo springrolls and LAB, typical Laos cuisine.

The next day we continue our journey down the Mekong river, which is a light brown colour, I would definately not swim in this. On our way to Luang Prabang we witness a storm and the heavens pour open, we visit two caves which are filled with Buddhas from all centuries dating back to the 12th century, astonishing!!
