Back in Tokyo for 2 final days we had a few things left on the list of must see one being the Tsukiji Fish Market for some sushi. I did extensive research on the best sushi in Tokyo and then compared them to how much I was willing to spend on sushi and decided to go with [url=http://www.kiyomura.co.jp/sushi-e/shop/shop03_menu01.html Kiyomura I reccomend doing research before chosing a sushi spot as there are many and I wanted to make sure I was getting quality (which isn't hard to do steps away from the biggest fish market in the world) Anyway, I took a picture of the outside with my camera and asked a few people along the way the direction and we found it. There was a huge group of 30 Japanese tourists going in and the place was packed, we must be in the right place! We sat at the sushi bar staring at a mostly japanese menu when the nice woman sitting next to me handed me the specials menu with a whole plate of various qualities or tuna/toro, i was sold, one of those please! She said everything was good on the menu and after trying the toro and
being totally amazed we really started ordering. More toro, salmon, amazing hand rolls and we even tried sea urchin for the first time and lived 😊 the texture and taste was unlike anything else, pretty awesome.
After the fish market we were in search of a game that was showed to us in Okinawa called sushi panic. It's basically a little sushi plate that you have to put different weighted pieces of sushi on until ah! it topples over, pretty fun. So we headed to Kiddy Land in Harajuku. Kiddy Land is 6 stores of cute awesomeness. If you are a fan of Totoro, Spirited away, Snoopy, weird puzzle games or cute things in general I recommend going here. We walked out with a successful Sushi panic purchase along with many other cute and weird things.
Next on the list was getting my nose pierced. I did tons of research online about this as well and was coming to a few dead ends but then came across a place steps away from the Kiddy Land we were at called
Extreme Body Piercing it's located behind the H&M building on the second floor. I walked in and was very much assured that
they were very knowledgeable and professional by talking to the guy behind the counter who spoke great english and had many many surface piercings and tons of good advice, so I got my nose pierced. Bracing myself for pain I walked back and laid down for the piercing and it was over in 1/2 a second and i felt nothing, not even a pinch. They were very quick and clean it was amazing. If you are crazy like me and want to take away a memorable piercing from Japan I highly reccomend going here.
That night we went out one last time with our friend dave and watched the world cup Japan game in Japan. I'm not really into sports but the World Cup is actually really fun to watch, and to see so many people in the street watching it on their phone, stopping to stare at TVs in the street, the whole world truly is watching it's cool.
Well over all Japan was filled with a lot of new experiences, culture and cute quirky things. I'd say the only down side is that it is hard to "get away" from the high paced work vibe and
lay on a beach but it is possible if you go further south enough. A good trip over all, now back to video game land...until next time Bai Bai!
