After the temple sightseeing, we went to a Japanese candy shop. We got to participate in a candy making workshop! We practiced twice with old sugar, and then each made one from the edible sugar! It was incredibly fun, but incredibly difficult. You get the sugar at about 90 degrees Celsius, and you only get about a minute or two before it cools too much for you to manipulate it (which is still way too hot to comfortably touch). My practice rabbits looked like creatures from the lagoon, but the one the counted actually turned out well!

The entire area was only a few minutes walk from a huge train station, but you could barely hear any sounds from outside the temple area. It's beautiful.
