End of an era
December marked the arrival of something id been really looking forward to (going home for Christmas) and something i really hadnt been looking forward to, Marissa leaving. Because she came in January her contract finished in December, so she too arrived home on Christmas Eve. While Marissa and I where in the same group of friends at uni, and always had fun times, we were probably closer to others in the group than we were to each other. Now, however, I count her as one of my bestest friends and shes stuck with me forever!! We had the most amazing nine months and packed so much in, it really would not have been the same without her. Marissa was the pasta queen, the smoothie queen, the risogalo queen, my navigator (Im literally lost without her), my sister (so many at Boozer thought), my wardrobe consultant (is this too skanky?), my wife (dinner on the table at 6.05 please!), my drinking partner, my nip/tuck viewer (i hate it when it finishes!)and the list goes on. So for everything Marissa,
THANKYOU.
Out with the old in with the new
Alright, so with Marissa gone there was a vacancy
Iiiii saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus!
The opening number. MEK Christmas Concert, 2006. in the Mansion, which leads to your introduction to..... Rebekah!
I was scared that my new housemate would be a spider worshipping, turtle hating, horribly unhygienic, incredibly boring freak of nature. Unfortunately all my worst fears came true.
Just Kidding!! I am pleased to report Rebekah is lovely, fabulous and normal, we get on really well and apparently we sound the same on the phone!! I couldnt have asked for anyone more.
Snow, glorious snow
At home Winter is my favourite season, because of footy and open fires and being cosy. Winter in Japan is also my favourite season because of sunny days with perfect views of Mt Fuji, cups of tea, and...........
snow. I love it, and even though it rarely snows in Shizuoka and even though we are apparently having a warm Winter (a high of 8 doesnt seem that warm to me!) it snowed the day that I arrived back in Shizuoka! Not enough to collect on the ground, but there were definitley flakes floating and swirling around! To steal Rebekahs word "Brilliant"!!! Theres more on snow to come as I have taken up snowboarding, so stay tuned.
We went for a weekend road
The Seven Dwarfs
The bear class performed Snow White!! trip to Honkawane and Sumatakyo, to the suspension bridge. There was so much snow everywhere, it was just amazing, ive never seen anything like it!
Kindy Days
Kindy has started again and as everyone always loves the pics of the kids ive included a few more. Parents Day is next week and I have taught the kids to sing 'Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree' in a round'! Its funny, but they are getting better! This term we have a trip to the Zoo or the aquarium, which will be cold but great and then we'll begin wrapping up for the end of the school year.
Hope everyone is doing well, love to hear all your news. xxxxxxxxxxoooooooooooo

A friend for life!!!
Amy, thanks for all those lovely comments! I miss you saying 'tadaima' when you arrived home, you doing your crazy 'weekend dance', watching nip/tuck together, eating mame, drinking Kaluah, shopping at the Shizu, stopping the cab halfway home for you ;) running for the bus, and walking silently to kindy every morning (haha definitely both not morning people!) I hope to see you in Japan in your last week as I begin another year there! I also look forward to meeting Rebekah and having another fun filled year!! Once again loved your photos, especially of the snow! See you soon, Marissa xxx
