Hi Andrew
Andrew-san, konnichi-wa! Genki desu-ka? By now, you probably understand those words and more. We missed you in New England last week. I'm so glad that you are having such a great trip. My mother was raised in Iwakuni near Hiroshima. Your sensei has put together an awesome tour (you're getting to see and learn a lot). I can't wait to talk to see you again to talk about Japan. Have fun. Sayonara, Uncle Dale and Aunt Jane

Konnichi-wa!!
Genki des. Nice to hear from you. I am having an awesome time; it is amazing to see another culture different from our own. I am picking up a few phrases and learning about the dos and don'ts of Japan. I actually registered for Japanese 1 for the fall to learn how to speak the language. One of the professors who came along teaches Japanese and I have gotten to know him. He actually lives in Kyoto during the summer and lives in MA during the school year. Can't wait to tell you more about it and thanks for the message. I hope Marcus had a great graduation; wish I could have been there. Sayonara!
