Lake Toba was great. in fact, i was a more than a little sad to leave it. but kevin told me about an orangatang convservation center up north and it sounded pretty cool. we got up fairly early to catch the first ferry back to the mainland and then, after a decent breakfest, we headed back to medan. we actually ended up chartering our own car. we never do that but we were able to do it for even less than what the mini bus from medan to lake toba had cost us. plus we all had our own seat. kev and i were able to sleep a little bit. it was nice. but then we hit medan. i can't stand that city. thankfully we didn't have to spend the night and caught a big bus out to Bukit Lawang.
the bus was packed and since i was in the back i felt every bump we hit. sometimes i got tossed up off of my seat and once almost hit my head on the ceiling. but the annoying part was that the only speaker for the stereo system in the whole bus was right next to me and

Wow, what fun adventures! Matt, I think the Thomas Leaf Monkeys are my favorite so far too...at least from what I have seen from your guys' journals. I'm so glad you guys are having so much fun there. The rafting looked like a blast! We miss you guys a lot and can't wait for you to come back. Have fun and good luck on that long bus ride.
AHH!! THat rafting looks so fun!!! Wow ... wow wow wow ... I doubt that I could do that down the Walla Walla River, but I just might try now!
Oh, and the black gibbions look hella freaky. Seriousely.
I have had a really great bunch of smiles and laughing with this one guys! you out done your self!! They are halarius and also what an adventure. LOve all the monkeys and your close ups were so clear and funny. All your facial hair and oh yeah, Matthew, we definatly like you clean shaven!!!!!!!!!!!! But we love you "just the way yo are! Thankyou for the amazing glimpse into your days. They make our days reading and looking at the wonderful full life you areliving and that rafting just looks tooooo fun! Hugs and Gods blessing M Cindy
