Hello dear friends, readers and travelmates!!
After leaving Perhentians, I went to see Anne in Kuala Lumpur again, and not to forget, the reunion with Achim took place also. After visiting the butterfly garden and birdpark, we took a plane to Bali with Airasia, my definetly favourite airline in Asia. Because it was very near to the airport, we decided to stay in Kuta - what a shithole, but it doesn't matter, it was just for one night, so we went early in the morning to the airport, bought a ticket with Skyaviation, went to the check-in and flew to Labuanbajo, Westflores - gateway to the Komodo-Nationalpark.
There we met Achim again, he had a flight 2 days earlier. After a fantastic Pizza in Madeinitaly, we strolled arround and booked a trip to the park on a liveaboard - juhu - diving, eating, sleeping, diving, eating, sleeping, - wonderful. After 3 days of diving and a short visit on land to see the biggest lizards in the world - the Komodo Dragons - Anne left us, in order to explore more of the mainland of quite big Flores. Achim and me, we stayed for 7 days diving there. It
was really a wonderful time. The corals are mostly very intact and there is also a big diversity. I think we were quite lucky not to get in superduperstrong currents - but it is true, currents can be wicked, even vortex, with downcurrents, everything is possible - water sometimes seems to boil, when tides are changing, it is really fantastic to watch that from the boat, and to dive in these waters. The fish life is also very nice, big schools of fish, sharks can still be seen - for sharklovers there are better places, but we didn't expect it to be sharkheaven - turtles and always mantas at mantapoint. Also the little critter things are possible to see - frogfish, picture dragonnet, scorpionleaffish - just to name some. So the reefs are very intact and together with that mixture of life and a really nice dive team with Greg and Sally on Komodo-Cruises it became a wonderful experience for diving.
It was hard to leave the boat, because the dives were really great, but I wanted to meet Anne again soon. So after Labuanbajo, we too a Minibus first to Ende, stayed one night after 15 hours of
a ride through beautiful countryside of Flores with forests, Volcanos and panoramic views to the Flores sea. From Ende to Moni we took a bus again and the we met with Anne again. The Kelimutu with it's changing color lakes - 3 lakes - was a fantastic halfdaytrip, also the walk down along farming fields throgh authentic villages with really friendly people everywhere was unforgetable.
After that, Achim took a plane to Bali, befor he flies to Manado to travel with Karen. Me I will leave Indonesia on the 10th to go to Pearth in Australia. So more travelblogs to read, Achim in Indonesia and me from Australia. And Anne writes from Indonesia, I will meet her again after Australia!!
So hope you enjoyed reading, have a nice time, see you soon!!
