BALI & LOMBOK: the sneak preview

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got back from Bali early this morning at 7am. I wanted to post just a few pictures before I head off to Beijing tomorrow...so that I won't be making you wait too long. 😊

Our trip to Bali and Lombok was amazing. It was so sad to have to leave; but "all good things come to an end".
Incredible weather, breathtaking sunsets, gorgeous beaches, friendly & generous people, delicious food...etc...etc...I feel so fortunate to have been able to experience and see so many new things.

Anyway, I will write a detailed entry later. For now, please enjoy some of the pictures I took!

The elephant on the right is Roxy, a 27-year-old Sumatran elephant, who gave me a ride around the forest.

this is where we went snorkelling, in the coral reef. there were schools of beautifully coloured fish swimming around. i saw Dory too!

we visited a sacred Water Palace on Lombok island. this is one of the huts within the palace complex.

Sasak village
we went to a self-sufficient Sasak village, inhabited by one big family (since they inter-marry, like cousins with cousins). their living quarters are made of buffalo dung & clay. it was an amazing experience!

this little girl, Elsa, made bracelets to sell. she's wearing her school uniform; when we saw her, she had probably just returned from school (they finish school at around noon)

Kuta Beach in southern Lombok
white sandy beach...clear, cool aquamarine water; we climbed to the top of that "rock" to get a better view of the entire beach area--it was gorgeous!

feisty macak monkeys; we fed them mini bananas and one of them stole our entire bunch. ehhee
