back in Delhi My "To Do List" is long. I have to pack and get ready to fly home, do all the souvenir shopping and meet some friends. Hopefully they will be able to answer my countless questions I have accumulated in the past 5 and a half months. Anasua and Anup my friends from Delhi hve invited me to visit their home and I had a chance to taste some delicious home cooked indian food while discussing India and world peace : ) ( only kidding )
Anasua even taught me how to wear a saree : )))) I think this is the kinda stuff which should wear a tag saying do not try it at home alone. dangerous... we almost died of laughter...
Surya31! I will be ever grateful for the tip on gastronomy. Karim's Eatery proved to be an amazing choice. A great introduction to Mughlal dishes.
We have visited with my friends Humayun's tomb, talked about India and it's future; ) Most of the pics featuring me and Humayun's tomb are courtesy of Ana and Anup : )))))
I didn't want to leave India without having the experience of a Bollywood movie. with my friend Gabor,
we set off to try to find a cinema. we were out of luck... we wanted to see the tipycal colouful singing/dancing loud indian movie, and we ended up sitting in a posh cinema, watching a movie in hindi. It was a mistake. the staff of the cinema treated us badly altho we have payed eurpean prices. they forbid the entrance with bags and after a bodyserch and a hitech security check they told us to leave our cameras outside. they didn't provide lockers, so we have to ask a secutiry guy across the street to keep our bags and cameras while we were watching a bad movie featuring the most famous indian family. Big B the God of Bollywood, his mediocre son acting as his son ( surprise surprise) and his Daughter in law who has won a beauty contest, and you know her face well because you see her in every possible add and poster... everywhere... she is a beauty, but I like her in a singing hipswaying movies more....
while the posh indians were chatting away in their cellphones ( cell phones were not forbidden....) they were clearly enjoying the movie just as much as we did
without understanding a word... it really doesn't matter if you speak the language or not, because indian actors tend to overact anyway. that ' s what makes Bollywood Bollywood : )
It was a very interesting experience and we agreed with Gabor that it was a waste of time, money, effort and everything else I cannot think of now. ...
other than that,
I have spent some amazing last days! I love Delhi and it was a perfect ending to my Indian journey, but now I have to come back to have the bollywood experience. I heard that in the movie theaters the people sing along the movies and they get really excited when something good or bad is about to happen on the screen... must be really cool and I would like to experience it : )
so now I go home, chill for awhile and start again my world tour in september. this time I will visit Africa : )
( a telefonokat beengedtek....)
mindenki egyutt izgul a hosokert, illetve egyutt enekel a szineszekkel : )))))
Most hazamegyek, feltoltodom csaladom es barataim szeretetevel, majd szeptemberben ujra utnak indulok hogy lefotozzam Afrikat : )

Excellent photos & description. I love some of the stuff we never explored. When you come again, we can explore together more places.
Thank you again for your hospitality
You have made Delhi very special : )
take care, keep in touch : )))
Kat
Hi Cat,
Its unfortunate that the only movie you picked up is neither here nor there. It lacked the fight-romance-loud melodrama-packed usual Bollywood flavour; and also it failed to possess the class and touch of Satyajit Ray/Ritwik Ghatak or the lesser counterparts of the real stalwarts of the Indian Cinema. Better luck next time.
One thing more. Happy to know that you have found our Anup a great cook.
Don't forget to visit my abode next time you are in Kolkata.
Lots of love and best wishes.

I am at present staying in Mumbai, I am a friend of Anup, I will always remember him as a person with great sense on humor. Yes, he is a good cook too. I liked your photographs Kataline. I would like to share few of mine with you. I also share the same view about the bollywood movies.
With best wishes
