If this floating hotel looks familiar, you are probably are a fan of the 007 movie Octopussy.
Udaipur was a pleasant surprise for all of us, in fact we could have stayed a little longer if only time had allowed for it. Built on a lake, it seemed like every view of the city was fantastic and for some reason, it seemed easier to navigate than some of the other cities we visited in India.

We toured the City Palace, walked through the narrow, winding alleyways and took a boat tour. We stayed in a haveli (historic family mansion) right on the lake and thus ate many of our meals lakeside.

We did not stay at the hotel James Bond made famous because rooms cost over $900 per night. We thought it seemed better to just admire it from afar!

This reminds me of Nanital. We loved that lakeside mountain retreat. Going to be tough coming back to reality. N
