Bundi Had a fantastic sleep last night. Seem to feel better but look worse for it. But feeling good is much more important than looking good. Actually had breakfast. Still don't understand how it can take 20 minutes to make tea and toast but every where we go it does. Was after 9 when we left but the journey took less than 3 hours rather than the 4 we were told. Better they overestimate rather than underestimate it though. We passed through a village where they were re-surfacing the road and all the men and women were out doing it by hand prom picking up and shaping each brick to laying them down in place.
The hotel seems nice, had a snack when arrived then chilled in the gardens, sitting on a chair swing - really like these. Able to sit and watch the chipmonks running around. Had a nice, long, walk through the village, saw some stepwells, the very colourul fruit and veg markets, and then went up to the palace by Taragarh Fort, stopping for water and Feast style chocolate ice cream along the way. Really good.
Another lovely palace with many rooms - and bats. Bats very

Bundi smelly indeed. Lots of climbing to get up there and then up to all the rooms. The one at the very top was the Kings mothers. I thought it was a bit much having there due to all the stairs - not good as she gets older. Then Sarah said it was probably so that once he got her up there she wouldn't come back down!
When we left the palace there were some kids playing a game outside on the street. It seemed that one would throw some balled up socks/clothes at a pile of stones and if he knocked them down he ran off and someone would try to get him out while the others had to quickly rebuild the rocks. Was fun to watch and Peter even had a go.
Sanjay and the hotel manager (who he seems good friends with) that had been our guide went back but me Sarah Antije and Janny decided to go for a wander as had spotted some nice shops. I ended up getting another top but something totally different that I wasn't sure would see again. Just need to get something to wear it with now hehe. By

En route from Ranthambhore National Park to Bundi the time we got back to the hotel we had been out walking for about 4 hours so were really tired. Thought the upstairs restaurant was on the roof but were shown into a huge dining hall with tiger heads mounted on the walls. Decided to eat down in the garden so all the staff then had to trapse back down after us. Ordered 'economical non veg' which we would share as it has lots of different bits and seemed loads when Nell had the veg version. When they brought it, it seemed twice the size - turns out they thought we wanted it each. But Peter had ordered one so we just all shared.
After dinner Sanjay and his friend the general manager tour guide were sharing some vodka so had a couple with my new favourite soft drink - Limca before heading off for bed - very early start tomorrow at 6.45am - hate setting the alarm when the hour is 6 never mind 5!
General thoughts for today
*an enjoyable day with good journey and town nice with friendly people
*felt from start something not right about Sanjay just odd feeling, finding him more
