Hi guys,

What a brilliant last few days! We ended up seeing TWO tigers, which were the most amazing two moments of our entire lives!!! And to make it even better, on our very last safari, just as we were leaving the park, we saw two leopards (male and female) which were absolutely beautiful! We watched them for about 10 minutes and even saw them mating…they seemed to like having an audience! While tiger sighting are very rare (one guy had been on 9 safaris and not seen one!) seeing the leopard is even rarer, so we count ourselves very lucky!! We ended up visiting all the zones in the park, some of them were stunning (particularly around the lake area) while others were pretty arid, but there was still as much chance of seeing a tiger there.

Both sightings were only for a few minutes at most but even so, it was awesome! Our stay at the Ranthambhore Bagh was fantastic and we couldn’t have asked more from the guys there.

We’re now in Bharatpur which is regarded by many as having the best bird reserve in the world. However, it would appear that our luck has run out slightly as the lakes have been drained to supply local villages with water, leaving the supposed idyllic wetlands somewhat dry! Nevertheless, there are still supposed to be some birds but we’ll have to wait and see. If nothing else, it’ll give us a chance to have a wander around in a nice peaceful place. Our hotel (Falcon House) seems very nice. We have a very luxurious room and at half the price as we’re just out of season.

For the guys at Dan’s work - We haven’t eaten anything remotely Western for about a week and a half except a few cheese omelets for breakfast!

Once again we’re being eaten alive by mozzies (they are definitely attracted to the computers!) so we’ll say our good byes now.

Hope you’re all well. We’ll try and write again soon!
